This was another performance which struggled to find its audience – such a shame too as the one and only star of the show, Australian Natanyah Forbes, put in a pile of work both in putting the show together and on stage performing it.
She is a crazy woman – that’s the first thing you realise inside the opening moments of the play which started at 9.15am, which clearly was not a great slot to be given – but fair play to Natanyah who carried on regardless and didn’t let the fact that there were only a handful of bodies in bother her at all.
She went through the whole routine as if the place was packed out and she showed off a multitude of acting skills which kept everyone on their toes. The comedy was zany and tremendous fun as she breezed from one set-piece to another, and ended up with a deserved standing ovation, illustrating how much everyone enjoyed themselves in her company.
I hope she returns again to try the Fringe again in a more suitable timeslot. Word of mouth is key to the success of any Fringe show and she may well have done enough on this visit to give this show a boost for the future. If you like your comedy to be off the wall then this is definitely for you. It was fun, she was extremely engaging and the audience and I loved it.
