One of the stars of last year’s Fringe, Australian Annie is back with a brand new show and her dead pan delivery and one-liners are a joy to watch. On the occasion I went to see her it wasn’t the biggest audience but that’s when a comedian really does show what they are made of, and she had the crowd eating out of her hand.
Clearly a larger attendance is what everyone wants to help the atmosphere but this was a chance for Annie to show how she delivers when the numbers aren’t there, and she controlled the situation really well, delivering a set which was entertaining and extremely witty. Everyone left happy having been royally entertained.
There is little doubt that when the numbers go up, which they inevitably will as the Fringe continues, the buzz of a crowd will make the experience for everyone even better, but the star of TV programmes such as “The F Ward” and “Colin From Accounts” who now lives in London will before too long be filling out much larger venues. Well worth the watch and very funny.
